CORTON GRAND CRU
LES CHAUMES

The terroirs of the Montagne de Corton are renowned for their ability to produce powerful and structured wines, making Corton one of the great age-worthy wines of Burgundy. Its rare south-east/south-west exposure in the region and amphitheater-shaped hillside provide a unique setting where Pinot Noir can fully express itself. This exceptional site, combined with an ideal geological profile, gives the wines remarkable depth and intensity.

TERROIR & VINIFICATION

The gently sloping soils of Corton are notable for their reddish hue and richness in marl with high potassium content. This terroir imparts beautiful structure and great aromatic complexity to the wine. In our Beaune cellars, these exceptional grapes are vinified with the utmost care to reveal their full potential, followed by meticulous aging that refines their texture and balance.

FOOD & WINE PAIRINGS

This wine pairs perfectly with flavorful, characterful dishes such as duck à l’orange, meats in sauce, hare stew, or venison medallions. Its breadth and power also allow it to elevate a platter of aged cheeses, offering a rich and harmonious tasting experience.

Ideal serving temperature: 16 to 18 °C.

TASTING NOTES

This Corton boasts a deep, velvety purple color. Its expressive bouquet blends toasted and roasted notes with aromas of blueberry, redcurrant, and kirsch, evolving towards more complex nuances of undergrowth, leather, pepper, and licorice. On the palate, it is powerful, full-bodied, and structured, with impressive intensity and remarkable persistence.
